From our annual User Group Meeting in the tropics back home to the desert, Crexendo® has stayed busy with events. Fortunately, we didn’t have to go far to attend CVx Expo, a fabulous networking event to discuss all things UCaaS and CCaaS. The event took place between November 2nd and 4th at the Talking Stick Resort and Casino in the beautiful city of Scottsdale, Arizona. It was two days of non-stop expo and sessions primarily for agents. A lot happened in this jam-packed event, and we have a lot to uncover in case you missed it.
This is the first year CVx Expo took place, and it drew a substantial number of visitors. They joined like-minded peers who sought clarity about emerging and transformational technology topics, including SD-WAN, cyber, remote work, CCaaS, and UCaaS. CVx provided channel partners and solution providers a clearer view of the opportunities and strategies for selling in modern reality. Two busy mornings of high-value educational sessions showed us where this industry is heading.
Some of the event’s highlights included the opening day golf tournament, opening night reception, and the exhibit hall. It was an honor to be part of an event of this caliber. Fortunately, even as the first event of its kind, there were no hiccups. Everything flowed smoothly, and those responsible for the event did an exceptional job including various technology vendors.

CCaaS Session: Selling CCaaS to Non-Call Centers
Most businesses believe they aren’t contact centers, but this is slowly changing. Now, more companies than ever are concerned about data collection, analytics, and insights bringing power and commercial opportunities.
Peter Radizeski, President of the telecom strategy and marketing consulting agency RAD-INFO, discussed how the audience of CVx Expo was no longer IT and CIOs in attendance. He also raised some pain points, such as cost, the resistance to change, and workforce gaps. It was a compelling session that shed light on the changes happening within the CCaaS industry and how to address them.
UCaaS Session: What’s Wrong with How UCaaS Is Being Marketed and Sold?
Customers are looking for a specific combination of functionalities, meaning the sales team must have a deeper understanding of the product they’re selling. The products, packaging, and features you are offering must be aligned with what appeals to the prospect in front of you to provide exemplary service.
Peter Radizeski asked the audience – how do you differentiate? What are the pain points? He discussed cost and risk. IT isn’t the only audience anymore – it’s leadership, finance, marketing, and IT might be last in line. The application layer is where the bulk of the revenue and profits come from, and adding value here through things like integrations opens up even more SaaS opportunities.
