Ray Morgan Company Fire Relief Fund
2018 has been one of the worst wildfire seasons on record in California. Recently, foehn winds caused another round of massively destructive fires to sweep across the state. The Woolsey Fire and Camp Fire, the latter of which has thus far killed at least 56 people and destroyed more than 10,321 structures. More than 600 people are still reported as missing. This is California’s deadliest and most devastating wildfire on record.
In Southern California, the Woolsey and Hill fires are raging, with nearly 20,000 acres burned and thousands of people forced to evacuate.
Among those families who have lost homes to the fire are 17 employees from the Ray Morgan Company. Longtime partners and friends of Crexendo, Ray Morgan is headquartered out of Chico, CA. An outstanding organization with wonderful people as part of their team, it is our privilege to work with them. Our colleagues had already left for work or were in the office when they received word that their homes were being threatened by the Campfire. By the time they left the office and headed home, it was too late, the roads into Paradise were closed and police were not allowing anyone back into the town of Paradise.
All they have are the clothes they wore to work on Thursday, Nov 8th.
The funds raised from GoFundMe will go directly to the employees and their families, to purchase items that are needed to rebuild their lives. Things we all take for granted such as clothes, towels, wash clothes, blankets, sheets, pillows, personal hygiene items, home goods, diapers, toys, school supplies, backpacks, etc.
More Ways To Help California
American Red Cross: This nonprofit has opened shelters across the state to help evacuees. They also have an online tool that people can use to register themselves as safe so loved ones can find them.
California Community Foundations Wildfire Relief Fund: For 15 years, the foundation has offered aid to those affected by wildfires. Grants have gone to rebuilding homes, providing financial and mental health assistance and helping those affected to get medical treatment.
Helping First Responders: Verified GoFundMe campaigns raising funds to help the brave first responders who are on the front lines of the fires.
