Crexendo® Toasts To An Epic 2020!

It seems like just yesterday we were all worried about Y2K and what was going to happen when the clock struck midnight to ring in the new century. It’s hard to believe we are starting a new decade this week as we ring in 2020. A lot has changed in the last 20 years and technology has led the charge to make our world and our communications more efficient and productive.

We were still trying to understand this whole new VoIP technology in 2000 as the concept was new and the bandwidth that most businesses and homes had was not sufficient to support this cool new capability. I remember trying to use my first VoIP phone at home over ISDN at 128Kbs and thinking this will never fly as the quality and complexity cast doubt on the usability.</p> <p>Who would have thought that this new technology would create a revolution in the telecom sector that would eliminate many of the legacy players from the game over the next two decades and create so many new telecom companies that are laying the foundation for the future? I’ll tell you one of the people that not only thought this would happen but helped lead the revolution was my mentor, and Crexendo<sup><sup>®</sup></sup>‘s CEO, Steve Mihaylo! Steve had the vision and insight that the cloud would revolutionize the industry and his vision was 20/20 (pun intended). </p> <p>As we begin 2020, Steve’s vision of where the telecom sector was headed is approximately 30% complete with a lot of runways left as businesses are rapidly migrating from their old legacy premise-based systems to the cloud.
